Yam Jujube Congee

Congee is the most sweet and warm food, which could tonify your liver and make you warm while it is chilly cold in early spring. It is very simple, but with the sweet aroma of the jujube, longan and rice, a bowl of warm congee is very suitable for your family in early spring.

 

Ingredients

Yam  Jujube  Rice  Longan  Brown sugar candy  Chinese wolfberry

 

Procedure

  1. Clean the rice, jujube, Chinese wolfberry. Soak the Chinese wolfberry in water. Remove the peel of longan and yam, and cut the yam into diamond-shaped pieces.
  2. Pour proper amount of water into glass-lined kettle, then put the rice into it after the water boils, and reduce the heat to low-medium for 25 minutes. Then slide the yam into the kettle and turn the heat to high-medium.
  3. After it boils, cover the kettle with its lid and turn the heat to low-medium for 10 minutes, then add in the jujube. After it boils again, add in the longan and soaked Chinese wolfberry.
  4. Lastly, put in brown sugar candy, then turn the heat to low-medium for 3-5 minutes.
